Scripture reads differently when it is in the language you pray in. You stop translating in your head and start hearing it.
We stock the local language Bibles that Ugandan congregations actually use. Baibuli y'Oluganda in the standard hardcover that pastors, choirs and elders across Kampala and Greater Buganda open every Sunday. The Runyankole edition that churches in the west have used for generations. Ekitabu Ekirukwera in Runyoro and Rutooro for Bunyoro and Tooro. And the Luganda Catholic Bible, Baibuli Entukuvu, with the complete canon including the Deuterocanonical books.
That last one matters more than people expect. A Catholic reader who buys the Protestant Luganda edition by mistake has bought a Bible missing books they will need at Mass. If you are buying for a Catholic family member, ask for the Catholic edition by name. We will make sure you leave with the right one.
Local language Bibles are the hardest thing to find in Kampala. Stock arrives in batches and moves fast, and most shops will tell you to come back next week. We keep them on the shelf, which is why churches send people to us rather than sending them hunting from arcade to arcade.
Every edition here is UGX 35,000 to 40,000. Walk into Shop AF 46 on the first floor of Mukwano Arcade and hold one before you decide, or message us on WhatsApp and we will deliver it in Kampala the same day. You pay when it reaches you.
